All crops which are grown in the marshland area of Lebrija are subject to integrated production techniques.
The assessment is carried out by a team of skilled technicians who periodically visit the farms, advising on all aspects which affect the development of the products and recording on computer all the measures applied.
The main objective of the integrated production system is that the agriculturists benefit from its implementation, obtaining products which are of high quality, healthy for the consumer and which are produced using environmentally sound techniques.
The aim is to integrate the agricultural systems to modern times through the use of integrated management techniques which help to find the balance between the social demand, the profitability of farming and environmental protection.
The following steps are implemented to achieve this aim: Plant Material : Must come from officially authorized producers. Analysis : Analysis of soil, water and leaves is carried out at regular intervals in order to establish a plan to supply the correct amount and type of fertilizer to meet the needs of the crop. Integrated Pest, Disease and Weed Control: With the aim of reducing pesticide applications, close monitoring of pests and disease is carried out in order to select the best method and time to take action. Collection: The highest quality is ensured due to the obligatory quality checks carried out at the collection stage. Inspection, Monitoring and Certification: All products obtained using the Integrated Production Techniques are subject to a process of certification which entails inspections conducted by independent certification bodies. Product Registry: The process history of the product is recorded, guaranteeing traceability*. The Consumer: The consumer is assured of obtaining a product of the highest quality elaborated using techniques which are respectful of the environment.
